IWC WELDING TRAINING PROGRAMS ?
The IWC Cathodic Protection Training and Certification Program (CPS) is a comprehensive program forprofessionals in any industry including pipelines, tanks and well casings, the maritime and offshore industries,coated steel, and water and wastewater systems.
The program is designed to give candidate a path for continued career-long professional development. The program is comprised several courses that are designed to train awide range of candidates depending on the individual’s experience level.
Each CPS course is an independent component of the program and has a different skill and education level forentry, taking into account the student’s work experience and math/ science background.
The program includes three certification courses and moves from entry level (CPS 1) to the most knowledgeableand experienced specialist level (CPS 3).
Once candidate successfully complete the corresponding exam they are eligible to apply for the relatedcertification.
The CPS 1 program ensure the in-depth understanding of basics knowledge and the fundamental of corrosionand cathodic protection system and related phenomena (stray current, CP interference …) with high control anduse of ISO 15589-1 for on land pipeline.
The CPS 2 program ensure an advanced knowledge of measurement in cathodic protection with field applicationof the most recommended measurement and inspection. This level include an understanding of the mostrecognized code and guidance for CP measurements.
The CPS 3 program ensure an advanced knowledge in the fundamental of corrosion analysis and understandingand design practice of the most applicable code like ISO 15589-2 for offshore pipeline, API 651 for storage tank,NACE SP0408 for reinforcing steel in buried or submerged concrete structure, DNV-RP-B-401 for offshore andnaval structure and NACE SP575 for oil treating vessels.
